The Wabash Feed Store
The Wabash Feed Store is located off of Washington Avenue, and it’s a great free place to pop in for a visit. The store is filled with animals, gardening products, yard decorations, and gifts.
They sell a variety of companion animals such as puppies, bunnies, guinea pigs, a variety of birds, and even exotic animals such as miniature horses. They also have a variety of livestock including poultry, game birds, waterfowl, pigeons, doves, and miniatures.
In addition to animals, you’ll find an interesting assortment of pet and gardening supplies plus furniture, metal garden art, pots and planters, and so on.
You can browse the store on your own or ask an employee to show you around. They are really nice about letting you see the animals, and they’ll allow you to hold them too. I discovered the store when I was searching for chick eggs to hatch at home. During a visit once, they allowed us to take some monarch butterflies that we found in their garden.
The Wabash Feed Store is a great Houston resource, and they’re very friendly. If you tour the store, you might spend fifteen minutes or you may stay an hour. It really depends on your families interests. We often combine our visit to the store with a visit to something else in the area.
The store is located at 5701 Washington Avenue, and their website is http://wabashfeed.com/.
